Rev. Carol Hovis has been a leader in faith communities, nonprofits, and community organizing for 30 years. She received a B.A. in International Relations from Dickinson College, an M. Div. from Union Theological Seminary in NYC, a Diploma in the Art of Spiritual Direction from San Francisco Theological Seminary, and Teacher Certification with Enneagram Studies in the Narrative Tradition.
With three decades of ministry experience, her significant contributions include: a lasting impact on a generation of youth, young adults & families at Providence Presbyterian Church, Fairfax, VA; the founding of an Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF) affiliate in Marin County, CA; 9 years of co-leading reverse pilgrimages to Cuernavaca, Mexico; rebuilding the primary inter-religious institution in Marin County, CA, the Marin Interfaith Council (MIC).
Carol and her husband, Chris Highland, author, teacher, and Humanist Celebrant, live in Asheville.
